Carla Washbourne

I am a PhD researcher in geosciences. My current project ‘Engineering Soils for Carbon Capture’ investigates how iron and steel industry waste products can be combined with soils to chemically capture carbon dioxide from the air and store it, safely and permanently. I am very interested in contemporary media perspectives on science, especially when dealing with environment and sustainability issues, and am active in science communication and public engagement.
