Eleanor Maddison
For her first degree Eleanor read Earth Sciences at Oxford University. Subsequently, she studied for a PhD at Cardiff University investigating changing sea ice conditions over the last 12, 000 years around Antarctica. She has worked at both the Open University and Sheffield University, before joining the interdisciplinary Tipping Points research project at Durham University in 2010. In her academic research career Eleanor has used a variety of tools such as microscopic plants (diatoms) and animals (foraminifera and non-biting midges) to reconstruct past climate and environments.
