Kate Foster

I work independently as a visual artist linking to Glasgow Sculpture Studios and Glasgow University and living in the Scottish Borders. Environmental art and social research training combine to work creatively on what is ‘more than human’ – particular entwined co-existences. Eg collaborative ‘biogeographies’ (see www.meansealevel.net) developed with museum staff, geographers, zoologists and took various turns and travels. Field drawing is one route to ecological awareness and action (eg www.inthepresenttense.net) in combination with writing and presentations- but ecoart demands balancing networks and activities (personal, professional and political), locally and further afield.
