Steven Hurrel

My work explores relationships between people and place, which extends to ideas of ‘ecologies of place’. I create video and sound works, context-based projects and permanent public installations. Following a Cape Farewell ‘Scottish Islands Expedition’ last year I am currently developing a video project on the island of Barra, in association with a human ecologist and a social ecologist. I have taught in institutions in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Norway, Australia and Gothenburg, Sweden, where I was Course Leader of MA Context and Media.
