Come and lose yourself after dark, in the centre of Preston at 6pm on Tuesday 27 November 2012. We guarantee an experience you’ve never had before. As part of Lancashire Day 2012 we’re inviting you to the audio trail of BALLAD OF THE BURNING BOY by Lavinia Murray, originally commissioned as a BBC Radio 3 drama broadcast and premiered at the Preston Guild Festival on 8 September. You can still listen on the Radio 3 website, you can download and walk the trail yourself at any time, or you can come along and join Miriam in her search for her missing teenage son George. She needs all the help she can get. He’s disappeared before but this time she knows it’s serious. Miriam has nothing to go on except a box of matches some lad on a scooter has dropped off for her. We’ll start our search at the Harris Museum, a place George loved to visit, and follow a series of clues all the way to Avenham Park. We need to beware of the ‘pre-ArkWrights’ – a group of mysterious eco-warriors who live in the shadows and sometimes catch fire. Has George been swept up in their campaign?
Featuring Suranne Jones (Unforgiven, Dr Who, Scott & Bailey) and Manchester performance poet Lemn Sissay we promise a special, haunting, audio immersive experience.
All you need to do is sign up for a free ticket at: balladburningboy.eventbrite.co.uk and your instructions. On the night you’ll need an mp3 player, a pair of headphones and sensible shoes. We provide the story, the sound effects and the visuals for your immersive audio adventure… http://www.balladburningboy.com
